Muriuki Njonjo has been part of the TEDxUW family since his freshman year in 2017 when he started out as a Speaker Relations Manager. A rising Senior, Muriuki is a Political Science Major with a focus on Public Policy and Administration. As Co-Chair and Licensee, he is the ultimate steward of TEDxUW and responsible for co-ordinating the team to truly deliver a platform that fosters ideas worth spreading.
I am a 3B Urban Planning Student and first joined TEDxUW in 2018 as an Ambassador because I was interested in a platform that combined my passion and interest for engagement, innovation, and meaningful change. I’m excited to see how all of our coordination and collective efforts come into fruition.
A fourth-year GBDA student acting as a Speaker Relations Director for TEDxUW to help smooth the transition for our speakers from a simple idea to an inspiring speech that leaves the audience craving for more knowledge and innovation.
I am 4A Knowledge Integration and Psychology student. I joined TEDxUW as their Logistics manager as I was thrilled to be a part of the organization of an event that can do so much to inspire and inform people. It’s a platform that lets people talk about their passions and engage with an audience outside of their immediate niche.
I'm Soyeon Jang and I'm a 2A Mathematics student. Whenever I listen to Ted talks, I wonder how speakers are able to provide such powerful speeches with effective delivery. And that's why I joined this team - to see the work behind the scenes. That being said, I hope we can make your TEDxUW experience a memorable one.
I recently re-thought my dreams. One of them was “I want to understand the dreams of the people around me, while enabling as many people as I can.” This is a step in that direction.
I'm a 4A AFM student doing DCFs and not being a doctor. I play the piano but Rhapsody #2’s too hard so I settled for La Campanella. Tokyo is my city and I’ll own a bar in Roppongi. If you ever need to build a computer I'm your guy.
I’m a 4A AFM under-grad student and joined the wonderful TEDxUW team in 2019. I hope that one day I have enough knowledge to fill my garage with Lamborghinis. In my spare time, I take long walks through the 6ix and watch the beautiful sun set.
I am a fourth-year undergraduate student studying Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Waterloo. Born and raised in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, I have witnessed Dubai turn into the city it is today from absolutely nothing. I am also an avid weightlifter and a big car enthusiast.
I am a 3rd year Math student and I was so excited by the opportunity to get involved in TEDxUW. I’ve been so lucky to work with the amazing team on brining this event to life. Hope you all enjoy, learn a lot, and get inspired by the stories that are shared. See you there!
Selina is in her 2B term of Economics. She enjoys writing and loves the diverse community of TED, which is why she took on the Content Manager position. In this role, she strives to foster a collaborative environment within the UW community and to promote the speeches of the conference’s passionate speakers.
What makes TED talks so different from other educational platforms is that speakers are able to connect with the audience through storytelling, personal experiences, and their passion for sharing ideas. I am so grateful to be part of the TEDxUW team and plan for an event that is truly inspirational.
